  7. XCALIBUR is an OSF/MOTIF-based image processing application and development
  8. environment tool set for SCO UNIX workstations. It is optimally configured to
  9. address the image pressing needs of the scientific, medical, remote sensing,
  10. intelligence, and defense industries. XCALIBUR can process and manipulate
  11. images of any format, dynamic range, and pixel type. It also can process images
  12. of any depth and display in a 24-bit mode through an X Window System. The GUI
  13. may be rapidly and easily reconfigured using the MOTIF builder of XCALIBUR to
  14. meet the need for a simplified GUI or a reduced set of image operations.
  15. Optional modules for medical imaging or images of unlimited size are also
  16. available. The ease of use through the GUI and the complete set of over 240
  17. image processing routines makes XCALIBUR the most technically sophisticated and
  18. adaptable software available for SCO UNIX workstations in the marketplace
  19. today. XCALIBUR is an excellent application for embedded software in medical
  20. imaging systems, remote sensing of the environment, and image analysis and
  21. interpretation of reconnaissance imagery for military operations. For
  22. application in defense-related digital imagery communication systems. XCALIBUR
  23. will be National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF) compliant by mid-1993.
